My Neighbor Totoro Review

Hello everyone, this is my first review in English, I saw the movie a couple of days ago and it was an amazing film. The film is about the father of two girls, aged 8 and 12, moving into a haunted house. You find a lot of interesting things about the ambient of the movie like the scenery and the landscapes around the house. This movie shows the Japanese rice farmers. The family is discovering new feelings in the house like having the courage to confront the scary feelings you experience in a new house and the challenge to overcome them. The mother is in the hospital, where she is recuperating. The girls visit her sometimes with the father, that makes the movie more amazing because it shows you the value of the family. Also the girls have good manners with old people and people in general, that shows that the culture in Japan is about respecting nature, the gods and each other. Something important is the support and warm welcome the farming community gives the new family. I think that is amazing. 

Later the girls meet Totoro, I think he is a spirit of the forest because not everybody can see him. Only the girls can see him. The girls have adventures and experiences with him. What makes this movie so nice is the meaning behind everything. 

I think this is one of the best animated movies of all time. It gives you a nice feeling watching it, you enjoy every moment. I’m sure that you going to love this wonderful movie like I do.

About the director Hayao Miyazaki is the genius who make this movie so amazing .This movie was hand drawn, that means the computer had no place here ,just  the animation and that’s it. The biography you can find in the next link if you are interested so click!
